Ben's comment as of 11/15/19 : As of today we have 10 deer in the
contest including one I haven't seen yet. This year we started out HOT ! Eighty Eight
degrees broke a record from 1877. That wasn't yesterday. The WCS taken on that
hot day is a Piebald DOE not in the contest. I thought you would like to see it.
The DOE taken by Dalton Moyer was actually a Button Buck with the wrong
accoutrements. He called me very confused. On my birthday, a rainy day, check
out the WCS 180 Class BUCK taken by Zachery Grazioplene. It's maybe going to end
up in the TOP TEN in NYS. LIFE IS REALLY GOOD ! We
went 22 days with no deer
in since 10/09/19, but then TWO POPE & YOUNG'S came
in. LIFE IS GOOD !Keep em coming, especially you 20 Young Adults. We
have never gone 22 days without a deer coming in 23 years. But I'll tell you
what, it gets me excited because they will come. They always have. The last day
of the Early Bow Season Joe Trieste took his first BUCK. Boy was I glad to see
him.
If
your treestand is rocking and rolling in the wind go hunt standing corn. If
there is a puddle of water in the field there is no reason for the deer to leave
it. They have water, food and sex available without leaving the corn. The weather doesn't bother the hunters with the bowhunting sickness.
The deer keep living their lives in spite of the weather because they know the deer eat, sleep and
drink every day just like you do. BRING EM IN ! & READ ALL ABOUT IT !
My final comment is we have never had a Deer Contest that worked out like this
year. We had 9 deer brought in, 7 of which are one the board winning money. The
other 2 deer brought in are $10.00 Blind Drawing winners. So the bottom line is
every deer brought in in 2019 is a money winner. LIFE IS GOOD !
