Ben's comments:
10/15/11 - On a scale from 1 to 10, the weatherman didn't
get a 10 opening day. In the late afternoon we did get
some wind, but no 40 to 55 mph stuff. We were
extremely busy at the shop with customers getting there
last minute stuff, or fixing what broke today. Two deer
were brought in, a Buck and a Doe. Many of you in the
contest have heard me say over the years, "I am so
blessed to have this business this time of year, when I get
to put my hands on some real class animals". It's cool to
be able to be excited even when your not hunting.
10/31/11 - Now that the monsoon season is over the deer
are starting to come in. We got 4 in this past weekend,
customers are seeing a lot of action, and also breaking
a lot of stuff for us to fix.
11/08/11 - No deer came in today, but some hunters that
missed came in today. This past weekend we got quite a
few in and the report is the bucks are starting to really
chase the does. This should be a good week unless 70
degrees slows things down. In my opinion when the does
are ready it doesn't matter if it's 90 degrees out. Time will tell.
11/08/11 - The bucks are running does, big time. Get out there.
One of my customers was in his stand less than 3 minutes
before he shot his buck. He had 5 does in front of him
before he got his face mask on.

In the contest there are 18 winners (9 Young Adult & 9 Adult)
plus $10.00 blind drawing winners plus a new category last
year for out of state deer winning $$ BUCKS FOR BUCKS &
DOES $$. If your not in the contest you get treated the same.
We just put you on the Wood'a-Could'a-Should'a list.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher,
who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle,
the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Obama being our president.
The old rancher said, 'Well, Ya know, Obama is a 'Post Turtle''.
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a
'post turtle' was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving
down a country road and you come across a fence post with a
turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so
he continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by
himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what
to do while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of
dumb ass put him up there to begin with'.

This is the second year I have had this message on my
Web-Site. Stupid is more and more prevalent, Common
Scence is less common and the CHANGE I have is just
in my pocket. Thanks Obama for the smallest deer contest
since 1996. My customers can't afford the gas to bring
the deer in. When you get to the end of your rope, tie a
knot in it. LIFE  IS  GOOD !
