CREEKWOOD GOES SENIOR:

Unfortunately only our shooters, 50 and over can compete at these senior games.

This year Creekwood had 13 shooters make the trip to Breezeport Rod and Gun Club for the competition.

They had 50 shooters registered for the shoot, but because of a crappy weather forecast, 6 or 8 shooters
didn't show up. For those of you that didn't show, it didn't rain all day, and was a great shoot.

The day was partly cloudy, getting warmer as the day went by. The shoot started at 9:00am and ended
around 12:30pm.

There was one round of practice before each round started. We shot 60 yards first, then 50 yards and
finally 40 yards. A round consisted of 4 ends of 5 arrows each.

The wind was, I'm guessing 20 mph from behind us. All our marks were hot and the windage was iffy at
best because it was switchy. By the end of the shoot, a T-shirt was more than enough to have on.

The good thing about the wind was it kept you cool. The rain held off until well after we left around 1:45 or
so. Experience shooting in the wind is a big plus for any outdoor archery event. It was a FUN SHOOT.

Dennis Sheehan, who shot summer leagues at Creekwood for many years, is the archery chairman at the
Breezport Rod and Gun Club.

He and his brother Mike along with Diane Botcha were in charge of the event.

The cost of the shoot was $19.00 which included a T-shirt, pill container, note book, pen plus a cloth tote
bag for everything, plus lunch and awards. WHAT A DEAL!

From Creekwood were: Ben Adams, Bob Bryan, Bill Wright, Dave Benty, Dick Reuter, Fred Case, Glen
Sawyer, Jim Lomoglio, Ray Scroger, Ron Coyle, Steve VanZile, Tom Gerstner and Tom Sawyer.

The lunch was super. Hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, pop, cookies with all the trimmings.

Creekwood Medal Winners were Dave Benty, Ray Scroger, Ron Coyle, and Tom Gerstner.
