Riley is 15 years old and goes to Kendall High. Both
he and his younger brother Owen are in the deer
contest.
Riley saw this same buck Saturday but wasn't close
enough for a shot. Sunday after being in his stand for
about two hours, his buck made a fatal error.
It was a five yard shot and the G5 Striker did it's work.
After going 50 yards it was called a dirt nap. He did the
deed at 8:45am when it was still a bit cool out.
When he stood up for the shot Riley said his knee
cracked and he was sure the buck heard it, but if he
did he didn't show it. This is Riley's third bow deer.
Last week during the youth gun hunt Riley took a real
nice 5 Point with his shotgun. His dad said he would
send me some pictures taken in the field of both bucks.
I don't think we have seen the last of Riley and Owen
for this bow season.
