Lauren and her dad, Greg shot our winter leagues last year
so a lot of our customers know them. Lauren is 14, so she is
a young adult in the contest.
She and her dad have put a lot of time in both scouting and
bowhunting together this season and as you can see it has
paid off.
She & Greg both hunt out of Tree Saddles, which I think is
in my opinion the best way to be in a tree. You can't fall out,
period.
They both hunted all day starting at 6am. Both Lauren & Greg
had seen this buck twice in the last two days. They both use
scent control clothing and swear by it. Deer directly down
wind and not being busted.
Lauren has been out 8 times this season. At 2:45 she took
her 15 yard shot in Greece, NY with her G5 Striker
broadhead and she watched the buck go down for a dirt
nap less than 40 yards away.
This is her 1st deer with a bow. Like I always say, the woods
are getting prettier. The phone rang at the shop and this excited
voice said, "Is this Ben", I said yes, she said, "This is Lauren and
I just shot a buck, if you can weigh it we will be there in about an
hour".
She wasn't kidding around. She really got the job done today.
