Many of our Creekwood Indoor 3D League know Kent. He shoots
the Indoor 3D every year, and last year he shot it with his son,
whom you will see later.
On Saturday November 11th Kent had one of those Up & Down
days. Actually it was more of a Down & Up day. In the morning
hunting near Brockport, NY he missed a real nice buck with a
crossbow. The same crossbow his son his killed his 3rd deer,
1st buck with down in Pennsylvania. The scope had gotten
bumped bad. So bad he missed the whole deer. His other half
said Kent did not come home singing happily.
Kent took a short nap, picked up his Elite, which he is deadly
with and went out and put his climber in a new spot. After being
in his stand about 45 minutes he saw the buck which was on
a doe. Then he saw a second buck which his buck chased off.
Kent did a Snort Weese which got the bucks attention. His
buck was looking around for the other buck and doe. Kent
gave a couple grunts followed by some doe bleats. The buck
came right in on a string.
The shot was 28 yards at 3:28pm with a Rage Extreem
broadhead that did the trick. This high tined 11 Point only
went 60 yards and piled up. This is Kent's best buck with
any weapon. He really works hard at his hunting and
deserves all he gets.
I am proud to call him my friend. He keeps my cars running
also. I asked him if would bring in a 142 lb doe to break the
existing contest record. Earlier in the Bow Season he killed
a doe but didn't bring her in. Kent is the 5th person in the
contest to take a doe and didn't bring her in. In the contest
the biggest doe wins the same amount of money as for the
heaviest buck or biggest rack. I think we haven't seen the
last of Kent Barker (Barks-A-Lot) this season.
