Ben's comment as of 11/17/12:
Well the 2012 Bow Season is over. My predictions for this
year of big racks and not real heavy body weight, didn't
really come out all that bad. We had some really big racked
bucks that normally would have weighed a lot more. I based
my predictions on a real light winter last year followed by a
very dry summer. Except for Ed Prince III's buck I didn't do
that bad. Check out Ed Prince III and his 223 lb 132 4/8" POPE
& YOUNG BUCK, it is the 3rd heaviest buck I have weighed
in 20 seasons. Dan Utter helped me out with my big rack
prediction with his 158 4/8" POPE & YOUNG BUCK. We had
35 deer brought in total. Clarence Moyer brought in a 7 point
buck with a mane that you need to check out. Don't miss the
NYS BIG BUCK CLUB BUCK of Steven Kessler either. For my
money the best story for this years contest is Brandon Ward.
Check it out. We are extremely busy at the shop with
customers getting there deer scent, or fixing what broke
already and last but not least a new bow. Many of you in the
contest have heard me say over the years, "I am so blessed
to have this business this time of year, when I get to put my
hands on some real class animals". It's cool to be able to be
excited, share other peoples stories even when you haven't
even hunted yet. Jared Reger brought in the first deer and
Justin Reger brought in the last deer. Four POPE & YOUNG
CLUB BUCKS, and three NEW YORK STATE BIG BUCK CLUB
BUCKS, and three more possible. This was the first year
since I was 16 years old that I didn't hunt. NEXT YEAR!

You might think it kind of stupid, for a business owner to have such
a strong political opinion and be vocal about it, especially if the
majority of the people in your area of the State are of the opposite
political mind. THEY, whoever THEY are say you shouldn't discuss
politics and religion. My opinion is THEY, (YOU) should start paying
attention. The people in charge of politics have a plan to get you
upset, so they don't have to worry about your vote, because THEY
tick you off so much, you just don't vote.
If your interested in my political views for 2012, read on. If your not
interested, like I say below, you deserve what you get, and don't
read them.
47% of the people in this country do not pay taxes and will probably
vote for Obama, because life works for them just fine. Of the 53%
majority left, some ware between 40% and 65% of them vote because
politics has them upset for one reason or another. YOU DO THE MATH!
We all know the definition of insanity is not changing anything and
expecting a different result. When you have more people in the wagon
than are pulling it, LIFE IS NOT GOOD. The average family income is
down OVER $4800.00 from last year. If that doesn't get your attention,
then you deserve what you get. What matters, the only thing that matters
is we need a change. Who knows what, who did what, who said what,
who promised what, who slept with who, doesn't matter, WE NEED A
CHANGE, and if we don't get it, well it's not like me to say, but, LIFE WILL
NOT BE AS GOOD IN 2013 ! Four days before the election I had a
typical non-voter in the shop and I kind of got in his face. He said he never
voted in his life unless the person he wanted was running. I said who
do you want? He said Ron Paul but he's so pissed off at politics in general
he is not going to go write in Ron Paul's name. I don't get it. He sure had a
whole bunch of opinions for a person that doesn't vote, and because he
doesn't, the politicians don't have to worry about him.
GOD BLESS AMERICA (Get your butt out and vote - some of your
relatives gave there lives for your right to vote - cherish it.)

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher,
who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle,
the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Obama being our president.
The old rancher said, 'Well, Ya know, Obama is a "Post Turtle''.
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a
'post turtle' was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving
down a country road and you come across a fence post with a
turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.
The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so
he continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by
himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what
to do while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of
dumb ass put him up there to begin with'.
