NYFAB INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP at Creekwood Archery
March 28th, & 29th, 2009
      
                Creekwood Archery was chosen to be one of the venues for the event. It is a mail in format, 45 arrow 450 Vegas Round. It was a two day event at Creekwood and we had a total of 31 shooters. It is a shoot where the shooter has to have a current  membership in NYFAB and also either the NFAA or NAA. The shoot was a lot of work, but we at Creekwood are really appreciative about hosting this event. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.
The guy on the right is Dave Hryn, the NFAA Director of NYS.

There  was a lot of chatter before the shoot began. Above you can see the Dave Reiss side and front profile.
I have him beat hands down, especially the side profile.

After the shoot began we realized all the finger shooters were shooting blue bows. WHAT'S THAT?

Brian Flaherty and Roger Lambert were the referees, and did a great job.

In the center in white is Sadie Kirkham, our only Cub on Saturday. She is a good shooter.

Peaking around her fathers shoulder is Dayna Taber, one of our two Cubs on Sunday. She had a great
day with parents and grandparents looking on.

Fred Bradshaw had a good day shooting his custom Oneida Eagle bow, however his son Derek below on
the right our second Cub shooting on Sunday beat his dad by one point. When a kid beats his dad the dad
wins big time.

Parents visiting from Michigan, watch there son Matt MacDonald perform in his new found sport of archery.

Brian Flaherty, one of Creekwood's shop shooters showed up with no arrows and no release. Brian said, "No problem; if Marcia will loan me her release and someone else will loan me some arrows, I can get the job done." He adjusted his sight in the two rounds of practice and shot a 436 with 21 X's using his new Hoyt Vantage Elite with less than 300 arrows thru it. A tank commander in the Marine Corps just knows how to get the job done.
On the right is Lori Moses, a many time State Champion who helped us out  on Sunday. Thank you Lori.
She is special on the Creekwood team.
