In 2020, we will have at Creekwood Archery our 420 Pro/Am which uses the target we have copyrighted & Trademarked. This is a 5 Spot or Single Spot target that is easy on the new shooters but challenges the real serious shooters, Pros included. WOW!
The 11th Annual 420 Pro/Am:
This is our 11th annual 420 Pro/Am and we are super excited about it. The target itself was copyrighted in 2008 and was Trade Marked in 2016. It is a challenging target for shooters at all levels of expertise from beginners to the Pro's and Pro Wanta-Bees. All scoring rings are the same size as the regular NFAA 5 Spot and Single Spot except for the "X" ring in the center. The 420's "X" ring was designed using a pattern shot by Jesse Broadwater at Creekwood Archery in the NAA Nationals in 2006, which he won by the way. The pattern from Jesse's Tournament Winning Target will NOT FIT INSIDE The 420's "X" ring. The 420 target does not like FAT arrows (Jesse shot 23's), which is one of the things Jesse liked about it. With all the 420 targets, "X's" give you an extra point, and Inside "IX's" give you an extra 2 points. 300 points similar to the NFAA target, plus 60 more points for "X's" and 60 more points for "IX's". 300 + 60 + 60 = 420 points. LIFE IS GOOD !
In 2012 our 420 Pro/Am was sponsored by the NFAA as a 5 point tournament. We had many NFAA Pro's shoot the tournament at Creekwood Archery that year. Jesse Broadwater has the male Pro Record of 401 with 41 IX's. Shane Wills is the only Pro to shoot a 60 X on the target. Christie Colin has the female Pro Record of 358. You can shoot The 420 Pro/Am Friday March 13th at 7:00pm. You can shoot The 420 Pro/Am Saturday March 14th at 9:00am, 12:30, or 6:30pm. You can shoot The 420 Pro/Am Sunday March 15th at 9:00am or 12:30. You may shoot one or two scores, counting only your highest one. Cubs 11 & under will shoot at 10 yards and all other shooters will shoot at 20 yards.
There will be a 75% Pay Out for the Pros, a 40% Pay Out for all the Adults. Cubs, Youth and Young Adults will compete for Medals & Trophies. There will be practice times Friday, Saturday & Sunday, plus a Mock Pro/Am on Friday February 28th and Friday March 6th at 7:00pm. Pro, Adult, Senior, Youth, Compound and Recurve classes, both male & female. If there is a class with no competition, classes will be combined, so get your shooting partners and friends signed up NOW. The sooner you register, the more time to practice.
